About Arthur

Arthur Explicit was born on 12.12.1971, a child of the 70s-curious, inventive, and quick to learn new things. His father was a professional singer/manager and influenced his life-long passion for music. By age eight he was learning piano, followed by acoustic guitar at fourteen, and by 1989 he was tagging along with his older brother to a popular recording studio. While his brother was working, Arthur was free to explore the equipment of music production; synthesizers, drum machines, sequencers, and a new world of electronics. Within twenty minutes he had recorded his first drum solo.

The studio owner recognized and encouraged the young musician and offered him an internship. Unable to afford the professional quality equipment on his own, Arthur readily agreed. “I asked for free studio time instead of payment for my work”, says Arthur, and quickly learned the art of recording music. He made good use of the free studio time, and produced his first electronic music album, “Chill Out” in 1992. Making use of his father’s experience in management, the team created a record label to market his music. In the ’90s, Arthur was a new husband, father, and living in New York City. He became intrigued by a new genre, Psy-Trance, and learned to produce the synthetic rhythms and layered melodies and began a new phase of his career as a true sound designer. By 2004 he produced his first House Music EP, followed by an album.

The young man grew as an artist and began to receive online recognition. He did gigs as DJ “Arthur Explicit” and as a solo musician in small NYC clubs, but music production was always his focus and all his free time was spent in the studio honing his craft as a House and Techno producer.

He did a collaboration with DJ/Producer Lee Kalt on a vinyl that has been released on Subliminal Records and another with DJ/Producer Ivan Gafer. In between all this, he released solo albums Techno, Ambient, and General Electronica.
